今天学了一篇新概念的文章Lesson 48 The silent village，把学到的几个词总结一下。

1、In this much-travelled world ,there are still thousands of places which are inaccessbile to tourists . 

much+过去分词的组词法，还有much-used 使用频繁的， much-ballyhooded 大肆宣扬的/  access这个词很好用，尤其在翻译时可以有意识地用用这个词。 如，便捷方便的交通， accessible transport = transport accessibility  / 平等地接受教育 have an equal access to educaiton 

2、we visited a number os old churches in the vicinity .意为nearby。另外可以用in the vicinity of ,例句 There is a hotel in the vicinity of the station . 

3、.....for they were not only of great architecural interes 这里be of + n表示主语具有某种特征。例如，When I was of your age / These flowers are of different colors . 

4、Several bus loads of tourists descended on the town . descend on + 人或地方，表示突然到访=a sudden visit 

5、表示小路延伸 ： a path led out of the town / the path traced its way through the trees 

6、几个表达：

come to life 形容一下子活跃、有生气

fast sleep :fast 在这里是adv.表示firmly ,tightly 

The village looked forbiddding 表示让人难以亲近、压抑可以用forbidding

走向 ： make our way towards ..
