The Government of Tibet Autonomous Region launched the annual litter cleaning campaign last Saturday, aiming at remove the rubbish left by the Mount Everest hikers. Quoted from the staff of the Tibet Mountaineering Association by the China News Service, this campaign will last for nine days and will clean intensely on the camping site of the height from 5,200 to 6,500 meters because this place is the most littered area.

This campaign was jointly launched by state and regional mountaineering associations, the Sports Education Bureau of Tibet, and the local government. There would be more than 90 people take part in this campaign this time.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the Forestry Bureau of Tibet has stated clearly that visitors shouldn’t cross the Changtang National Natural Reserve, the highest reserve in China, and also prohibited the access to Xinjiang and Qinghai Natural Reserve, aiming at protect the natural environment. In the meantime, they appeal to the visitors, adventurers and travel agencies abide by the regulations of the conservation and protect “the last pure land on the earth”.
