| Preface
When we are in the first week of a new office, we often need to ask people for help. That is only natural at the beginning.
To ask people politely for help, you can use the words “would” and “could”. There are some examples for you.
| Examples
I was wondering if you could do something for me?
Would you be able to print a file for me? The file should be on the system and could I have it in the next ten minutes please, as they’re on their way here for a meeting?
Could you email me the background file on Fruit?
Could you possibly send it to me within five minutes? Paul needs it soon.
Would you mind sending me the file?
Could you possibly help me with the printer? It’s really urgent. Would you mind writing your email later?
