说到“名字”，我们通常会想到“大名”和“小名”，但是可千万不要直接把它们直译为“big name” 和 “small name”。怎么用英语更好地表达它们呢？
big name ≠ 大名
“big name”常用于英语口语中，表示“名人，大名鼎鼎的人，知名人士(常指娱乐界的一个人或一群人)；众所周知的事情(或事物)”
英文释义：A big name is a person who is successful and famous because of their work.

这部电影里有名人吗？
那么，“大名”该怎么说呢？
英文释义：one's formal personal name
表达方式：your (given) name[敬] 或 Given name
A given name is a person's first name, which they are given at birth in addition to their surname. [正式用语]
在出生时，父母给起的名字
pet name ≠ 宠物名
Do you have a pet name?
千万不要脱口而出：你有宠物名吗？这样的回答真的很尴尬！
“pet name ”表示“昵称，小名”，这才是“小名”的正确表达！
eg：Don't call my pet name, I'm 15 years old!
别叫我小名了，我今年15岁啦！
household name 也≠ 家庭名字
household name =家喻户晓的人物
（人人都熟知的名字）
eg：He was a household name in the 1950s
他在50年代，是个家喻户晓的人物。
