Two weeks ago, my ESL teacher Kathy ask me that do I have time to visit a girl name is Melissa who had a tumor ,got a operating one year ago. I said yes. I only know Melissa parents left home visit some where.
I was kind of wondering why Melissa's parents left home when they have a daughter who had cancer need to take care of ? This is a little strange for me as I would have a visit a person who never know before.
One week ago, I attended a mission dinner and auction event for support some people from our church . There were a auction which was very interesting. I actually beated a fantastic hand made princeless wood crafted. All money would be donated to buy some material for Chile mission trip . In chlie some where have a house ,which used to for local people have chance to study bible and worship, the house needs repair . In the auction dinner, Kathy introduced me to Melissa and her sister Susan. I was wondering again: she had a sister who take care of her , does her sister Susan will left home also ?
I got email from Kathy which showed there are have few people will visit Melissa as well. So I put to my calendar,in case I forgot!
Today after I make a phone call, I went Melissa home around lunch time. I brought noodles and one fresh bread I made . I thought I am going to make fresh food to her. It's a warm lovely home, where have many pictures ,decorations which you can feel it is Christian life style family.
During the time she was eating noodles I made, we started conversation. I got know after she had tumor surgery 2017 January, she had two times strokes . She used to work very hard at Timmhot as a baker. When she found her eyes vision had a problem ,she went hospital checking . After scanning her head , the doctor find out there were two tumor inside her head , one is bigger than a grape. But she didn't have any headache,didn't have other painful experience, only effect her vision ! It was surprised me. She was very good communicator, and I found her mind is very open and very positive thinking. Her sister work at a bank. They go to swimming every weeks, that means her sister Susan will hand by hand guard and guide her to the swimming pool. After she got this problems she move back home, her sister and her parents take care of her. She just sometimes felt lonely and bored when she don't have something to do. She used to be a very handy woman, she works three different jobs. She told me if her vision gets better, she would find new job to do. Her parents work for an organization , I saw a name card on the table , it said Transformation and life changing community . We share some thoughts and ideas about life . She showed me the picture her mama daddy and sister. I can see they are very great and happy family! Her parents are very great parents. They have traveled far away from home to work a mission for people ,for community where people need help ! It's the place -Chlie, which the same place we had mission dinner for donations. In the same time, they have a daughter needs help too. During we conversation, her mama phone her times checked her, her daddy checked her too. I got touched! What kind of family they are? They put their own needs behind and help others! They live on a mission which is much bigger and better than just stay home take care of they own! I started to think how different people and society compare many people and countries! I am surely I saw goddess family today. That is exactly what I got. Inspired and moved! I will continue to visit her. Life is a journey, let me see this time where will lead me!
