Nuo den is located in the mountains of Yunlong county, Dali Bai autonomous prefecture of Yunnan province. It is a place developed by the salt industry and has long lived by producing salt. After liberation, due to the extensive development of sea salt, Nuo den lost the salt as the economic pillar, and gradually faded in people's memory. But because of this, Nuo den was lucky to keep its original beauty .
Using the unique characteristics of the village residential buildings, Nuo den demonstrates the architectural culture of the bai nationality residential buildings. At the entrance of Nuoden village, there is a salt well, a former salt producing place, which is said to have started in the han dynasty. It's not producing salt anymore, but you can still see the traces of some of the tools and the salt. When you enter the village, you will find that the residents are very close to each other, almost a wall apart. There are temples, inns, and many things that are characteristic of traditional culture. In the temple of Nuo den, there are sacrifices every year. Nuoden people are friendly and hospitable. In the mountainside, there is a primary school where teachers teach the children in the Bai language.
The famous food in the village is the norden ham. It is made mainly of salt and tastes very good. After killing the New Year pigs every winter, people begin to pickle the ham. With the broadcast of CCTV food documentary "a bite of china-- ham of Nuoden", Nuoden ham is known to the Chinese people and is popular with food lovers.
