Music exists all around the world as one of the most important art forms. It spans time and locations from the ancient society to the present world. With music, the world is much more beautiful and colourful; and with music, we express our emotions and experiences more diversely.
For most of us, music is just like our soul mate, or one of our closest friends, and always accompanies us in different settings. For example, when I run in the morning, I am accustomed to listening to some movie soundtracks, such as Shawshank Redemption, in which, I feel a deep sense of peace, and spontaneously meditate with my moving steps and my breath. When I am upset, the melodies of Beethoven always help energize me and teach me that I am able to overcome all of the obstacles in my life.
Moreover, it is familiar to us that music plays the essential role in movies. It is hard to imagine how those blockbuster movies will be if the soundtracks are deleted. Background music in movies perfectly underlines all the necessary moments and create the atmosphere, which capture the audience's attention, affect their mood subtly and create a sense of anticipation. For example, Forrest Gump is one of my favourite movies which I have seen plenty of times. Every time I see it, those songs played in different scenes of the plot always move me deeply and even bring tears to my eyes.
Besides in movies, music can be ubiquitous in other settings. When attending a party, the strobe lights and loud music with a heavy beat make us want to dance. On television, we can easily find most of the festival ceremonies encompass a lot of kinds of music, ranging from classical forms to pop ones.
All in all, music is really important for us.
