1. 罗伯特·赫里克(1591-1674)是英国抒情诗人，一生创作了一千余首诗歌，各种题材信手拈来即可吟咏成篇。终生未婚，但他一样向往美好的爱情。此诗为少女而作，要她们大胆追求爱情，珍惜青春。其意境与我国唐代歌词《金缕衣》中的"花开堪折直须折，莫待无花空折枝"有异曲同工之妙。
原诗为抑扬格，每节四音步和三音步交错，韵式为 ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGH，汉译依此用韵。
