Today is Friday.
I have finished the book. Here are some interesting expressions.
"Kick oneself" means to regret doing something.
"Tickle someone pink" means to please or entertain someone very much.
"Conk out", if something such as a machine or a vehicle conks out, it stops working or breaks down.
"Thread one's way through" means to make (one's way), as past or around obstacles or through a passage.
"Under the wire" means "just in time," it is from horse racing, in which the wire marks the finish line.
"Forty winks" means a short light sleep or a nap.
Amelia met a good friend and they caught a big bass, which let them won the Miss Bigmouth. She had a fantastic roam and then went back home smoothly. She wrote every interesting moments in her journal. And it would remind her this wonderful trip in the future.
I will soon go for a trip on the coming vacation. Hope it as surprised and excited as Amelia's.
