Over the past 1.5 years till today, I've been doing an interesting experiment: doodling + writing English daily. Most people think my focus is on the doodling, and few know my real purpose is on English writing. It's really a way to force myself to think and write in English, and really get better at this language.
I captured so many interesting topics, from design thinking, product, to life stories and sometimes simply drawing. I enjoyed flipping through my sketchbook -- letting the doodles tell me what stories I wrote that day is one of the most satisfying things I've ever had.
However, I had hard times too. Sometimes I had a good topic to write about but didn't have enough time. Sometimes I ran out of topics. The latter happened to me more often recently. It's not that I stop observing life, but when I focus on some things, I simplify don't have enough capacity to try to capture other things. This makes me frustrated when I wanted to carry on my little side daily project. I don't want to just capture the trivials in life just for the sake of trying to doodle or write about something.
Therefore, I'm going to take a break from my doooodles, and hopefully come back to it at some point, with something I truly want to capture.
