1. The simplest situation is to add a -s to make the singular to plural.最普通的情况就是在词尾加上s使其名词变成复数。例如：apple-apples 苹果, desk-desks 书桌, cat-cats 猫
2. If the noun ends with -y, and with a vowel before it, the plural is formed by adding -s.词尾是y的单词，当它前面是元音字母（vowel）时，词尾直接加s 。例如：boy-boys 男孩
If a consonant is before the final -y, the plural is formed by changing the -y to i+es.当它前面是辅音字母（consonant）时，把词尾的y换成i+es。例如：fairy-fairies 仙女
3. If the noun ends with -ch, -sh, -x, -s, the plural is formed by adding -es.词尾是ch、sh、x、s的单词要在后面加上es。例如：glass-glasses 玻璃，fox-foxes 狐狸，wish-wishes 愿望，watch-watches 手表（注：wish有多种词性以及意思。作为名词，它有愿望，希望的意思。作为动词，它有祝愿的意思。更多详细意思可以查询翻译）（注：watch 有两个意思，一个是作为名词的手表，一个是作为动词的看。）
4. If the noun indicates an object that is alive, the plural is formed by adding -es词尾是o的有生命的名词后面加es。例如：hero-heroes 英雄，tomato-tomatoes 西红柿，potato-potatoes 土豆，volcano-volcanoes 火山
If the noun indicates an object that is not alive, the plural is formed by adding -s词尾是o的无生命名词后面加s。例如：piano-pianos 钢琴，radio-radios 收音机
5. If the noun ends with -f/-fe, the plural ending would be -v+es词尾是f或fe的名词，要将f 或fe变成v+es例如：leaf-leaves 叶子，knife-knives 刀
6. Some nouns, stay the same in singular and plural forms.有一些名词，它的单数和复数形式是同一个词例如：sheep羊，deer鹿
7. Some nouns, however, do not have a specific rule for conjugating between singular and plural.还有一些名词，它的复数形式是没有规则的变化例如：man-men 男人，woman-women女人，mouse-mice老鼠，foot-feet 脚，tooth-teeth牙，person-people 人。
8. Although some nouns end with -s, they are actually in its singular form, careful to not mix them up～一些名词，虽然是以词尾为s的形式出现，但其实它们是单数，千万不要搞错噢～例如：economics 经济学，news新闻
