Good afternoon, students! Recently, many of you have come to me to discuss a diversity of troubles that affect your mental health. Therefore, I would like to share methods of resisting and dealing with mental health issues with all of you through this speech.
Firstly, I want to talk about the impact of your friends and family on your mental well-being. As we know, humans are social animals, and we gain energy by interacting with others. Robinson nearly went crazy when he was on the island alone; even a person as strong and clever as Robinson could not stand loneliness, so it is necessary to strengthen the relationship between people around you. By spending time with your buddies and family, you may feel content and pleasant as your brains emit positive chemicals. Additionally, when you feel overwhelmed due to your studies or teenage lives, you may also go to them for help. Talking to someone you trust may bring you suitable comfort and reasonable suggestions. They all care for you very much, so don't consider seeking help a weak act; it shows your trust instead.
However, I understand it is common to have quarrels with people close to you. Thus, it is also essential to learn to handle loneliness. Though I have said that it is beneficial to form tight bonds with others, if you find it painful to fit in a group, you don't have to change yourselves to do so. You may spend more time on your interests, where you can find joy and happiness. Practise your schoolwork and forte more, improve yourselves to be better selves, and you will find mates that fit you someday.
Next, having good living habits can also make you satisfied. To formulate fair habits, you should sleep and get up early, have a healthy diet, and exercise. The above can offer promising physical health for you guys and make your brains fresh. For example, abundant sleep and meals composed of 20-30% fat can increase the growth of brain cells and the survival of new neurons, and exercising brings blood to your students' brains, which is also profitable for new brain cell growth and dopamine secretion. By growing new neurons and with the help of dopamine, you will feel very pleasant.
Last but not least, you should be kind and care for others. You are a team, and if you help each other, all of you can gain benefits. As aforementioned, human beings are social animals; by assisting each other, you can feel pleased because of the sense of accomplishment formed by doing good, and you can gain help next time when you need repayment. Accordingly, the action of taking care of each other is a win-win. Hence, when you notice your friends look blue and depressed, try to support them by comforting them and giving them some advice. If they refuse to talk, silent companies work as well. Patience is the key; everyone gets sick, physically or mentally, or even both, so please don't be stingy with your patience.
Alright, the above four points are what I would love to share with you: spend time with your friends and family, focus on developing yourself when lonely, maintain good living habits, and be patient with your friends struggling. Thank you for listening.
