- an imitation of a literary work, song, film, type of news commentary, use of language, etc., with a comical exaggeration of the style or a humorous focus on an unlikely subject.
- also can be a bad imitation of something a travesty
*Satire
- uses humor, exaggeration, irony, or ridicule to mock people's vices, misbehavior and foolishness.
(parody is aimed at art, but satire focuses on society, groups, or individuals. A satirist may use parody as one way to achieve his goals, though.)
