Having lunch or dinner with visiting clients or business associates, is quite common. The following passage describes such an occasion.
The restaurant is a well known place to take business clients. The view of the city is wonderful and there is a beautiful roof garden, so it would be a good place to take a client for a drink too. Although we arrived early, there were very few places left, so it is probably best to book.
As a starter, I chose the goat's cheese salad and my partner had the mushroom soup.
The salad was fresh but there was too much lemon juice in the dressing, and it contained too little cheese. The soup was a better choice. According to the waiter, it contained four different kinds of wild mushrooms. My client gave it ten out of ten.
For the main course, my client had a lamb cutlet with vegetables, while I went for the tagliatelle in spinach and cream sauce. My client enjoyed her dish, especially the roasted carrots and green beans which went with it There was also a whole roasted onion. My choice, however, was a mistake. The pasta was correctly cooked but the sauce ruined it. There was too much of it and it contained too much salt.
