It’s interesting that sometimes people shop not just for practical purposes, but also to fulfill some emotional or psychological needs.
A few years ago, I was browsing deals on Amazon and saw a funny looking clock with a warped metal shell. At that time, I already lived with no clocks for a long time — I didn’t feel like I needed one at all, as I can glance at my phone any time.
However, I decided to get this clock as soon as I saw it, thinking: whoa, isn’t it an interesting representation of time?! I don’t know about others, but I’ve dreamed of being able to bend the power of time.. yea yea it’s not realistic, but with this clock, it seemed like time can be bent a bit in front of my eyes.
It’s an interesting feeling. And I guess it’s also what people call an “impulse purchase”...
