看完这些的我突然就对这个叫记忆宫殿的思维方式产生了好奇。那有人就会问记忆宫殿到底是个啥啊。那搭宫殿的积木去哪买啊，某宝有吗？我不想多解释（生气）。何谓记忆之宫，须知西方人理性精神极盛，是故相信“按照事物的顺序进行记忆，通常而言极为简便”，以这种方法来存储记忆，就是利玛窦所谓“以本物之象，及本事之象，次第安顿于各处所”（《西国记法·明用篇》），细分起来，有寻常日用的知识，有切要但不常用的专名；有现实经验，亦有想像臆测以及真假参半的记忆。

The most interesting book on the history of the memory palace is still Frances Yates: Art of Memory. Even though her work is not always historically accurate, it may be the history that we would like to have been true. It’s still wildly popular over fifty years after its publication, and awakened interest in the technique for many readers.
If that sparks your interest, you may also want to read Giordano Bruno’s Renaissance era work on the subject, starting with On the Shadows of Ideas by Giordano Bruno and working your way through the other five books on the art of memory that he wrote. (Disclaimer: I’m biased, because I’m translating them. Most are still only available in Latin.)
For a contemporary account, try Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer. The people mentioned in the book, including Ed Cooke and Tony Buzan, have a number of excellent practical manuals for building memory palaces.
Anthony Metivier’s Magnetic Memory Method series of topic-specific books are also good practical help for languages, terminology and mathematics.
Though not memory palace related, Marilu Henner’s Total Memory Makeover, Uncover Your Past, Take Charge of Your Future by Marilu Henner is a fascinating read. Henner is one of a very small number of people with Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM). While her memory is unusual, her recommendations for how to maximize the memory you’ve got by improving focus, recall and organization are helpful to anyone.
