A prepositional phrase is a group of words beginning with a preposition.
We can use prepositional phrase the way we use adjectives. We can describe nouns with prepositonal phrases. When a prepositioanl phrase is an adjective phrase , it tells us what kind , how many, or which one.
Prepositional phrases can also be adverb phrases. When a prepositional phrase is an adverb phrase is an adverb phrase, it tells us how, when or where .
Figurative laguage (比喻)
Similes use "like" or "as" to compare two things .
Metaphors make a stronger claim. Smilies say two things are similar. Metaphors say two things are the same.
A hyperbole(夸张法) is an exaggeration(夸张;夸大).
I'm so hungry I could eat a horse.
Henry was the fastest person alive.
Personification(拟人) : They compare non-human things to humans.
The moon's light guided me in the dark.
The wildfire ran through the forest.
