I grew up believing that learning was self-discipline:a hard lonely climb up the sheer rock face of knowledge to where the smart people live .I was driven more by a fear of failing than by anything like curiosity or wonder.
I used to be an "exam machine",with most of my peers,we pass certain examination,find a job,get marriage,have children.worry about getting the axe in middle age.and become more and more like a machine.we aren't able to draw a great blueprint for ourselves.let alone for our society or even for our country.
Thank goddess that it's never too late to realize that learning is a lifelong issue.
It was as if they'd been told its okay not to understand everything right away;that it would come in time.that their doubt was itself a valuable instrument.
If the brain is a learning machine,then it's an eccentric one.And it performs best when its quirks are exploited.
The living brain in action is the guarantee of learning efficiently.
