粗谈商科

留学界，商科类专业一直备受关注。
纽约大学Stern商学院的荣誉教授Stephen Brown说：“Knowledge of finance is an essential life skill. (金融知识是重要的生活技能之一)”
商科的功能性分类和领域
说到商科类的专业学习，我们可以按功能性质分类，如金融Finance、会计Accounting、市场营销Marketing。很多商科类细分专业的课程也会交叉学习到以上知识。比如像商业管理Businss Management或管理信息系统Management Information Systems专业，我们会学习所有的公司运营和行政管理知识。再比如，其他商科类的专业：房地产Real Estate、保险Insurance、时尚营销管理Fashion Merchandising、酒店管理Hospitality、建筑管理Construction Management等专业的学习，也会带我们进入不同的领域。
商科的设置
除了学习做表格，商科重要的学习其实是学习理解人类的行为，很多商科本硕项目都会涉及社会学Sociology、心理学Psychology、人文学科Humanities等课程。
商业的发展，也决定了商科学习的课程设置。公司、市场的全球化、制造业从服务行业的转型、企业的合并、科技的发展、政府政策的改变、人口的变化都影响着高校商科专业创立。比如以上的这些经济形势让我们有了风险管理Risk Management, 信息管理Information Management, 电子商务E-commerce, Supply Train Mangament供应链管理, Entrepreneurship创业学。
Pratt Institute教授Diane Fredette说：“我们生活的这个世界，或许只有‘改变’是一直不变的。”
本科与研究院
在本科学习阶段，不同的学校有不同的商科教育理念：有的学校看重量化、分析技能的培养，有的强调策略和管理，有的注重商科的基础理论教育，为申请研究学院做准备，有的更偏应用和实践，为本科毕业后创业做铺垫。美国有5年的商科本硕连读项目。通常，2年大学商科学历也可以找到酒店服务和服装业的工作。
除了看学校所设的商科类专业特点，学校的地址位置也能暗示该校商业学科学习的侧重点。比如，如果学校坐落在城市，那么金融专业的学习往往会偏向帮助我们在城市中心Financial Services领域的就业，而不是城郊区域的商业管理。
需要读研吗？每年有180,000多的学生获得商业行政管理硕士，高级管理工作岗位已经有很大的竞争了。MBA是必须的吗，不一定。但是Graduate Management Admission Council调查发现91%的学生感觉他们的学历会起到很大的作用。Boston University商学院主任Diane Riemer总结：“读MBA需要学会找到通往成功的不同途径”。

是全职教授还是兼职教授（商业领域的职业人员）还是各占一部分？
课程是以讲课为主、还是项目为主、还是实践为主？你喜欢什么学习方式？
科技的使用情况如何？
学生会获得什么资源？
商业企划书比赛？
实习机会？
业内人士的人脉网？
学生社团组织？
学校提供哪些职业就业方面的帮助？
毕业生去向是什么？
