The advise I would give my friend is to ask help from the predecessors  when there is a problem. Because they have worked for a longer time at that job and have encounter more challenges. Then they may have had the same problem and have some successful experience. This can be very helpful. What is more, asking help from others would be a good way to know the colleagues and get along well with them. This is essential for ones career.
