Step 1:Warming up

T: Good morning, boys and girls. Today, we will learn unit2 I’ll help to clean up the city parks.(板书)

T: First of all, let’s see the sign ,try to tell me the meaning .

S:(志愿者图标。)

T:Volunteer Icon . volunteer means a person who does voluntary work and they are without payment. Is that clear?

T: What do volunteers do to help others? The more the better.

S1:help clean up the city parks, help sick people in the hospital, 

S2:Help old people in the old people’s home,

S3:Help give out food ant the bank food,

S4:teach kids.

T:Yes ,we could help clean up the city parks, help sick people in the hospital, help old people in the old people’s home, help give out food ant the bank food, teach kids.

T:let ‘s see my answer to the question What do volunteers do to help others.What do volunteers do ?

T&S:They could visit sick kids. They could cheer up sick kids.They could read newspapers to the old people.They could talk to old people.They could clean up the city parks.They could work as a guide in a museum. They could teach kids at school.They could help kids with homework in an after-school study program.They could set up a food bank.They could give out food at the food bank.

Step 2:Pre-listening

T: Ok, Now, let’s play a guessing game.we can see several pictures now and please tell me What volunteers do?

S1: visit the sick kids,

T: They could visit the sick kids.


S2:They give out food to other people.

S3:They help set up a food bank.

S4:They help clean up the city parks.

S5:They volunteer to teach kids in an after-school study program

S6:They cheer up the old people.

Step 3 :While-listening

T: Well, Now let’s listen three conversations.while listening ,please number the ways the boy and girl could help others.

T:First ,let’s read the sentences and try to tell the meaning.

S(齐):女孩能够到医院看望生病的孩子,鼓励他们。

男孩子能够在食物站发放食物。女孩子可以在课后学习中心帮助孩子们学习。男孩子能够帮助打扫城市公园。

T:Ok.Now let’s listen and number the ways the boy and girl could help others.

T: Let ‘s check the answers together .3-2-4-1.you’re so clever.

T: Ok.Now let’s listen and fill in the blanks.

T: Let’s check the answers.

T&S:

1.The girl could visit the sick kids in the hospital to _cheer_them_up _.

T:Good .

Step 4: Post-listening

T:let's talk .In these conversations ,can you tell the meaning of the “conld”When we use it ,do we want to give advice(建议) ,order(命令)or tell the ability(能力)?

T:Yes.We use“could” to give advice.

T:About giving advice, we can say :You could visit sick kids.

we can also say :Why don’t you visit sick kids?

T&S:Why not visit sick kids? 

How about/ What about visiting sick kids?

T:Very done.

Step 5: Pairwork.

T:OK.let’s talk about what you could do and give other’s advice.You can use these setences.

A: I am good at/ interested in/ good with…

    What can I volunteer to do?

B: You could could volunteerin an after-school study program to teach kids.

A: Good idea! What about you?

B: Good idea! What about you?

B: I want to ...

G1: I am good at English.  What can I volunteer to do?

B: You could do sth.

  Why don’t you do sth.

  Why not do sth.

  How about/ What about doing sth..

A: Good idea! What about you?

B: I am good with the old.

A:Why don’t you cheer up the old people.

B:Sounds good.

G2: I am good at telling stories. What can I volunteer to do?

B: Why don’t you visit sick kids? 

A: Good idea! What about you?

B: I want to work out .

A:Why not help to clean up the city parks?

B : Good idea!

Step 6: Group work.

T:Set up your own volunteer group!I am in the SUN SHINE LOVE .I usually go to the students'home to give help on weekends. HOW about you ? What club do you want to set up(建立)?Thing about it and then talk about in your group .Each group member write down what you can volunteer to do.Only two ideas are OK.

T:Now ,share your writing with your classmates!..

Step 7: Summary.

T:Today we learn some phrasal verbs:

T&S: cheer sb. up; clean sth. up ; set up sth. ;  give out;  hand out

T:We learned ways to give advice.

T&S: You could do sth..  Why don’t you do sth.?

    Why not do sth.? How about/What about doing sth.?

Step 8: Homework.

T:So,today’s homework is master the target language and think about how to volunteer .

OK.Class is over ,bey,boys and girls .

S:Bey ,Ms.Bao.

教后反思:

教学过程中,根据学生的实际情况,我做了一些调整,不分析1b 中的句子结构,重点让学生感知动词短语和could的用法。结果,这节课上的还算顺利。备课时,我关注到could的用法是从能够引入的,在对话中是建议,1b的翻译中也把它看作能够。第一次这么备课,也第一次有这个发现。很感谢新网师,感谢王辉霞老师的引领。
