Today is Saturday.

I am reading a new book, Amelia Bedelia Means Business. Actually it's not just one book. It's one of a series of books. I cannot find the whole series by now. But I will have a try. Because the book is really interesting.

Amelia Bedelia is a girl whose mind is not very clear. She often misunderstands the phrases' real meaning by the phrases literally. So I can learn many interesting expressions from the book.

Here are some examples. She wanted to buy a beautiful bike. Her mother told her it cost an arm and a leg, which means the bike is expensive. But she thought the bike would cost her arm and leg. Her father agreed to pay one half for the bike, so he told her he would meet her halfway, which means he would compromise with her. But she walked to his father and stop at the halfway to wait for his father coming to meet her. She asked her father what kind of job he had done when he was young. He told her he had done many kinds of odd jobs, which means temporary jobs. But she said she didn't want to do those strange jobs.

That's really interesting.
