我们都熟悉“home”的意思是“家”，be home to 常用来表示“某人或某物的所在地”，“某地拥有”，比如“中国有十四亿人”就可以说成“China is home to 1.4 billion people”。home 的这种用法是一个常见的、经常被忽略的好用表达。
当我们介绍一个地区的特色时，就可以用到 be home to。注意这里的 home 不可数，只能用单数形式。比如中国的黑龙江省大庆市是中国的石油之城，我们介绍的时候就可以说：
Daqing is home to China’s largest oil reserves.
北京有 7 处历史文化遗产入选联合国教科文组织颁布的“世界文化遗产名录”，我们就可以说：
Beijing is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
北京的中关村有近 9000 家高科技公司，我们就可以说：
Zhongguancun is home to about 9,000 hi-tech companies.
《卫报》在报道中国科幻电影《流浪地球》时说：
China is already home to a thriving science and speculative fiction literary scene.
《经济学人》在提到加州的教育改革时说：
