The writer mentioned not only once that luxury and. comforts enervates and destroys nations and degenerates mankind. When I told this to my husband, he said, according to his saying, Africa should be well-developed. Everyone has his opinions on even the same thing. For me,it's of no fault that,everyone works hard just for a comfortable and better life. however, it's hard to define comforts. Like the writer, he took living in the woods as a ideal life while most of like living in a big and nice house with a garden. Refering to luxury, I think it has its value of existence. At least, it makes one part of some people's goal, but we cannot love luxury just for luxury....especially when you cannot afford it..
Then I read that food is the necessary of life that everyone is pursuing, but it should not be the only pursuit. The writer encouraged people to try a new mode of life,to get a clearer view of the world. Reading here, I recalled our classic story, the Frog in the Well. If we stay in the well, we can only see a small corner of the world and firmly believe that that is the whole world. How could they know there is a larger world?
