格言分享

在整理书架时，我看到了一本被我冷落已久的一本书——《英语格言谚语小词典》。这书是十几年前，在路边的一个旧书摊上，我花了两块钱买的（书上的定价是７.５元），当时的我感觉如获至宝！

这本书一共收录了800条英文格言，我全部背过了！

该书由Ronald Ridout & Clifford Witting编著，由王寿来翻译。译者王寿来，对我来说很陌生，加之，这本书的中文部分是繁体字，所以，我特意查了一下。果然，他是台湾人，出版、翻译过多本著作，曾任那边文化部文化资产局局长。

现复习／分享几条格言。

1，He who rides a tiger is afraid to dismount.

骑虎难下。

2，Give him an inch and he will take a yard .

得寸进尺。

3，God helps those who help themselves.

天助自助者。

4，God is always on the side of the big battalions.

上帝总是站在大军一边。

5，Might is right.

强权即公理。
