Just so you know, I’m writing this blog with the dictation function of my iPhone.

I want to start something useful. A regular section of this blog I’m keeping. I’d like to call it “Slang of the day”.

I work with English everyday. Though I’m not a native speaker, I spend day in and day out using English. I use quite a few slangs (mostly American, occasionally British) everyday, and they are very useful when writing an email.

So, here’s today’s “Slang of the day”:

up in the air

“up in the air” means undecided, uncertain, unsolved.

e.g.:

The itinerary is still up in the air, but we would definitely want to include Berlin if possible.

行程还没有决定，但是我们非常希望尽量安排途径柏林。

Anyway, back to my everyday life. I had a messy hair day. This means my hairs are completely out of control. I tried everything, trust me. Ponytail, bun, half up-do...you named it, I did it, and it ended badly. I was fidgeting with my hairs all day and I got tired and decided to forget about them all together.

I also started to read a Chinese novel (something I don’t do very often any more. Most of my book shelves are occupied by English literature) about grave digging and treasure hunting. Quiet interesting, I admit.

My friend asked about my hobbies today, and I told her I spend most of my spare time reading, watching TV series (the good ones, like GoT) and movies (good ones, too, like Pulp fiction), and occasionally playing video games. I think she’s trying to set me up with someone...
