An extreme winter weather hit Texas in mid February. Equipment froze at power plants and millions of people were left without electricity. All these fallouts demonstrate the ill-preparatuon for extreme weather despite many warning had been give by scientists. A string of planning failures can be linked to the catastrophe. These failures indicates hundreds of years of past preparation are not siffice and new preparation will be needed. Research shows that the climate change is linked with occurrence of polar vortex. Climate curveballs is a great challenge for electric gtid planners to ensure the electricity supply can always match demand. Many events happened. As global warming intensifies, the climate linked disasters will increasingly difficult to manage. Measures need to be taken to deal with it. Experts suggests to invest fully in measures and adapt to a new way of thinking.
