 a watched pot never 'boils 字面意思是：眼睛盯着水壶，水壶永远也不会开，什么意思呢？也就是：心急吃不了热豆腐，这个表达真是形象呢。比如学英语是一个很漫长的过程，心急是吃不了热豆腐。Learning English is a long tern process, you know, a watched pot never boils。妹妹最近正在焦虑地等待高考成绩，然后我告诉它，放轻松点，心急吃不了热豆腐，就可以说：Take it easy。 A watched pot never boils.

这句话里面中文翻译出现了不适合和适合，如果是中文翻译成英文，我可能会用到suitable / not suitable这个单词。而老友记给出的表达就十分的简单，用到的就是wrong和right这对反义词。很喜欢phoebe 说的这句话：what if the husband person is the wrong guy, and you are the right guy。 造个句子吧，法律这个专业不适合我，英语专业才适合我呢，就可以说: Law is the wrong major, and English is the right major。

伴娘伴郎，从来没想过会学习这样的词汇 😂。在剧中伴娘用的表达就是：bridemaid和maid of honour。伴郎用到的就是best man，这里的best man不是指所有的伴郎，而是指和新郎关系最好的那个伴郎。除了用best man 表示伴郎，还可以用到：groomsman。 新郎和新娘的表达分别是:bride; bridegroom。

darn 做adv 表示极其，非常。看到这个短语想到了way做副词也是同样的意思。像monica 说的这句话: he was just so darn cute。他帅呆了，就用到了darn。 他太太美丽了，就可以说：she is way/darn beautiful。
