10/23 Today we learned about Egyptian gods and Hieroglyphs象形文字. We made our own cartouche漩涡装饰 and read some words in hieroglyphs.
10/16 Today we learned about Ancient Egypt and the Nile River. We know many interesting facts about pharaohs法老, mummification木乃伊化, embalming防腐 and sarcophagus石棺. We completed a map of the Nile River and filled in a worksheet about Ancient Egypt.
10/9 Today we made a catapult and measured how far objects would travel by ordering them lightest to heaviest. We observed that lighter objects travel farther than heavy objects. We also did some word work with words such as creak, fiercely, whirl, unlatch, winding and frantically. Great job making your catapults and participating with enthusiasm in all activities Friz, Ashley, Yvonne, and Annie.
9/25 Today we discussed chapters 1-5 of The Knight at Dawn. We learned about the different parts of a castle like moat, drawbridge, tower and wall. We also learned about the feudal system which consists of kings, lords, knights and peasants. Don't forget your items for next week's catapult making. Thanks for another great class Annie, Yvonne and Friz! ~Teacher Connie 谢谢!
9/18 Today we learned about paleontologists and fossils. We discovered that using tools is much easier to extract fossils than using our fingers. Thanks for your participation Yvonne, Annie and Ashley. Looking forward to learning with you all next week.
9/11 Today was our first lesson reading Dinosaurs Before Dark. We learned about the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. We also looked at animals that went extinct and compared them to animals that survived and exist today. Great participation Ashley, Coco, Yvonne and Friz. I am looking forward to our second class together.
