1. Failure is when one fails to live up to values they have been holding true. Thus, failure is a relative concept.

2. Failures push us to improve ourselves and establish better values. Take my own story as an example. I used to have a crush on a boy and actually we two were an item for some time. Yet I could obviously feel that he was not that into me. He said that he felt controlled with me and I was too capricious and childish. When we broke up, I was so sad that I even begged him to take me back and I would change. Now when I look back on those lovelorn days, I find myself stupid and funny. This failure about love helps me realize that I am so insecure and depend too much on others. I always want to change people the way I like and act on my will. This realization prompts me to change for the better.

3. Avoiding failure comes from the rigid education system, overbearing parents as well as the mass media that inject into our life all kinds of success without unveiling the hardship underneath.

4. One of my VCR questions these days is "how can I finish my four papers with each one requiring 5000 Words?" Actually when i really get my hands on paper writing, it is not much of a problem anymore.

5. I have joined this reading club. I'v always wanted to join the reading clubs and read authentic English books. I hope I can form the habit of reading Eglish books. 10 English books in 2018 is on my to-do list.

2. 感悟

At some point, most of us reach a place where we r afraid to fail, where we instinctively avoid failure and stick to what is placed in front of us or only what we r already good at.

在人生某些节点上，大部分人害怕失败，本能地去逃避失败，只坚持近在咫尺的那条路，只坚持自己所擅长的东西。因为这样更容易，我们不愿花时间和精力去改变自己，做更多的事情，有时明明这样很颓废很堕落我们还是叹一叹气说算了吧，我做不到，太难了，别人太优秀了。其实有时更大的失败是都没有勇气开始。

Even if u don't know what u r doing, the simple act of working on it will eventually cause the right ideas to show up in your head.

即使你不知道要做什么，你只需要动手去做，最终你就知道该做什么了。确实如此，最近我感触很深，因为回家带了一堆论文，开始时。一想起就头疼，感觉好难写。可是后来逼迫自己从第一篇开始，确定主题，找资料，慢慢就知道自己要写啥了。所以有时我们只需要动手去干就好。
