Extracts:
Where you are can determine who you are.
self-interpretation:
The position we occupied would give our identities and bring reference opportunities. The starting point usually can't be equal. We might encounter different rivals with different background. The gap among people exists. No one could easily change it. The doomed fate would actually be transformed by insisting on challenging, even if a small step could gradually make differences.
Extracts:
If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.
Self-interpretation:
The communication between people is based on the same line of thought, which forms the same images in their mind. That is to say, if the outputs of the speaker can coincide with the inputs of the listener, the communication would be effective. The same language knowledge is the first degree of common sense. Lacking of correct language basis would bring out prejudice and misunderstanding. Meanwhile, if the speaker doesn't know the background of listener, including his cultural deposits, economic settings, original status, and so on, the speaker would not deeply understand the whole meaning under the listener's context. Only when the speaker actually stands in the angle of listener, the communication would be smooth and successful.
In my opinion, knowing a language consists of the studying of grammar, the practice in authentic environment and mastering the background.
