本周学习了U4词汇。教学内容如下。

“What +名词＋助动词+主语＋谓语＋其他成份”的结构如：“What amazing facts do you know about the Earth? What problems is the Earth facing？"。What后面跟名词时，what起形容词作用，修饰后面的名词，作用是对某个名词提出疑问。在“What can we do to protect the Earth？” 的问句中，to protect the Earth 为不定式作目的状语。不定式to do 可以用于表示一个动作或事件的目的或意图。

1.常见的有关地球的词汇：

Planets:  Mercury水星；Venus 金星；Mars 火星；Jupiter 木星；Saturn 土星；Uranus 天王星；Neptune 海王星

Adjectives to describe the Earth: colourful 丰富多彩的；lovely 美丽的；vast浩瀚的；huge 巨大的；magnificent 宏伟的；壮丽的；breathtaking 令人赞叹的

Other: universe宇宙；the solar system 太阳系；environment 环境；desert 沙漠；rainforest（热带）雨林；mountain 山；field 田野

3. fact  n.事实  There are many interesting facts about the Moon.

in fact = as a matter of fact = actually实际上

In fact / As a matter of fact / Actually, I enjoy reading books more than watching TV.

4. file n.档案    You'd have to make sure to bring the file with you.

5. amazing adj.令人大为惊奇的 The film is amazing, so it is welcomed by teenagers.

be amazed at对……感到惊讶    I was amazed at how quickly she learned to play the piano.

6. planet n.行星      We all have a responsibility to look after the planet.

7. billion n.十亿      It took more than one billion dollars to complete the project.

billions of数十亿     The night sky is filled with billions of stars.

8. cover v.盖；覆盖 ；   She covered her face with her hands.

占（一片面积）The school covers an area of over 10,000 square metres.

n.封面    Her face was on the cover of every magazine.

9. support  v.维持      As far as we know, Mars cannot support life.
