宇宙的尽头是人心
Day 52 S解读论语之Day 36
【原文】
5.8 孟武伯问:“子路仁乎?”子曰:“不知也。”又问。子曰:“由也,千乘之国,可使治其赋也。不知其仁也。”“求也何如?”子曰:“求也,千室之邑,百乘之家,可使为之宰也①,不知其仁也。、赤也何如②?”子曰:“赤也,束带立于朝,可使与宾客言也。不知其仁也。”
【翻译】
孟武伯问:“子路算得上有仁德吗?”孔子说:“不知道。”孟武伯又问一遍。孔子说:“仲由呵,一个具备千辆兵车的大国,可以让他去负责军事。至于他有没有仁德,我就不知道了。”又问:“冉求怎么样?”孔子说:“求呢,一个千户规模的大邑,一个具备兵车百辆的大夫封地,可以让他当总管。至于他的仁德,我弄不清。”孟武伯继续问:“公西赤怎么样?”孔子说:“赤呀,穿上礼服,站在朝廷上,可以让他和宾客会谈。他仁不仁,我就不知道了。”
【启发】
1,仁是孔子的核心思想,他对仁的要求极其高。子路,冉求,公西赤在他看来都没达标。虽然能力还行,位高权重。仁和能力是独立的,有些人能力强,但不仁,其实用这种人有时危害更大。
2,仁在我看来就是人心,俗话说,路遥知马力,日久见人心。这个社会乃至整个宇宙,比拼的尽头其实是人心。那些小心机小把戏,是经不起岁月的考验的,人终究活得要对得起自己,对得起别人,对得起社会。便心安。
Mang Wu was a minister in Lu, he asked Confucius whether his students Tese-lu, Chiu and Chih were virtuous.
Confucius said," I do not know."
In a kingdom of a thousand chariots, Yu(Tese-lu) might be employed to manage the military levies.
In a city of a thousand families, or a clan of a hundred chariots, Chiu might be employed as governor.
With his sash girt and standing in a court, Chih might be employed to converse with the visitors and guests.
However,
I do not know whether they are perfectly virtuous.
It takes a lot of time to turn all that water into wine.
