4. rubbish n.垃圾

-They must have thrown away all the rubbish.
-nonsense = rubbish
-That's rubbish.

5. waste n. v. 浪费

-It's a waste of time.
-You are wasting time.
-We may be wasting our time.

6. realize v. 意识到,想到

-sb. realized that... 意识到
-He realized that she had paid the bill.
-She realized that they had gone on a holiday.
-They realized that Leo might be sleeping.

问题三:什么是动名词?

-构成:V. + ing
-动词变成名词为动名词
-现在分词是动词
-She is fishing.

问题四:如何使用动名词?

-动名词是名词:可作为主语、宾语、表语:
-I like fishing.
-Sleeping is good for you.
-Reading is an art.
-Fishing makes me happy.
-Seeing is believing.
-I enjoy watching TV.
-I love reading.
-His hobby is collecting stamps.

课文:

Fishing is my favorite sport. I often fish for hours without catching anything. But this does not worry me. Some fishermen are unlucky. Instead of catching fish, they catch old boots and rubbish. I am even less lucky. I never catch anything-not even old boots. After having spent whole morning on the river, I always go home with an empty bag. 'You must give up fishing!' my friends say. 'It's a waste of time.' But they don't realize one important thing. I'm not really interested in fishing. I am only interested in sitting in a boat and doing nothing at all!
