e.g.
By the time you were my age, you had already published your first book.
By the time you get here, we will have finished all the dishes.
🤔🤔🤔
By the time I was her age, I didn’t know what I wanted to do either.
‘You will find it, or it will find you.’
I didn’t plan to become a teacher in the first place. But I took the job offer because I needed to support myself while trying to figure out what my life was about. Then as time went by, I gradually found myself greatly inspired by my job, from which I’ve got a sense of achievement and true pride. So I guess I have found my calling, or I guess I could also say, it has found me.
‘One day, you will look back and you will realise that every experience you ever had, every seeming mistake or blind alley, was actually a straight line to who you were meant to be.’
look back, v.
Looking back on how it was in the years gone by…
every seeming mistake=something that seems to be a mistake but actually may not be
It’s not scary when you don’t know what you want in your early twenties, because your life barely started and there are more than two roads that diverge in a yellow wood.
But it is scary when you choose to become someone other than yourself, just because you wouldn’t dare to try, to allow yourself to make mistakes. ‘Every seeming mistake or blind alley, was actually a straight line to who you were meant to be.’
It’s amazing也是一首很好听的歌,是电影Sex and the City的主题曲,也推荐给大家,已经放在文章顶部。
Last but not least, happy birthday to myself!
