《花妖》讲述了一个穿越千年的凄美爱情故事，第一世北宋的杭州，男主被杀，女主殉情，阎王爷被两人的爱情感动，允许他们再世投胎，但执行两人投胎的人错拨了罗盘经，第二世男主投在唐代的杭城，女主被错投在西汉时期的杭城（泉亭），相差千年的时光。两人孤独老去，第三世投胎，女主投胎到男主第二世的唐代的杭城，男主却又投胎到了百年前的隋朝时期（余杭郡）。两人两次投胎，始终投胎在同一个地方，却永远不在同一个时间里，总是完美错过，就那么永远相互寻找下去......
