Today's UI design theme is a single item in an e-commerce shop. What a hard task it was while at the same time watching the depressing US presidential election, ugh!
I did a mobile website site for a jacket. Typically for a jacket, people like to see what it looks like, compare different colors, choose sizes, learn about its details and read user reviews. Sometimes I found it hard to be able to see bigger images, scroll through images, and view details. Usually it's a very very long page, and when you scroll, it seems it's scrolling forever.
My idea was: 1. make content into sections, you can either do a gentle up/down scroll or click the top/bottom edge to go to another section; 2. hide content as needed, such as Jacket name (do people need to see the name all the time?); 3. dock call to action button at bottom, and pin color/size selection there as well, so it's always visible to be changed any time. When change color, it should automatically go back to the jacket image section.
I really wish that I could have made it interactive, but ended up not being able to do so (I spent half of time peeking at the election results...). Today's UI design was created in Axure.
