Part 2第一句话就奠定了整章的基调——“August is the Sun.”
Words
Shuttle
If someone or something shuttles or is shuttled from one place to another place, they frequently go from one place to the other.
Eg:if I wanted mom and dad to watch me play soccer, I knew that nine out of ten times they’d miss it because they were busy shuttling August to speech therapy or physical therapy or a new specialist or a surgery.
Sarcastic
Someone who is sarcastic says or does the opposite of what they really mean in order to mock or insult someone.(If someone mocks you, they show or pretend that they think you are foolish or inferior, for example by saying something funny about you, or by imitating your behavior.)
Eg: it was the first time in his life that I heard him be sarcastic like that.
Pull
When you pull something, you hold it firmly and use force in order to move it towards you or away from its previous position.
Eg: He went to bed and pulled the covers over his head.
Eg: I pulled the new comic book away from him.

Guiding questions
1. Who had always been the sweetest to August? What happened between Miranda and Olivia?
Miranda.
Miranda had always been good about calling Olivia as soon as she got home from summer camp. But this time she didn’t. And Olivia found that Ella and Miranda had gotten together a few times during the summer without her.
2. Did her mom check in via before she went to bed? Why?
No, she didn’t. She intended to, but at that time August was having a bad mood and mom was helping him through it.
3. Did August want to go back to school? Why?
No. He had overheard some very mean things some guys were talking about him, and he was hurt that one of these guys was his “best friend”.
