PERSIST
1. 英英释义:to continue to exist
例句:If the fever and cough persist, see a doctor.
If the fever and cough persist, see a doctor.
Old traditions persist: women are still expected to marry young, bear children, and obey husbands and mothers-in-law.(这个句子中的 persist 也可以用我们之前学过的 remain 来替换,区别是 remain 本身没有负面含义。)
a) The scars of racial segregation persist.
b) Arguments persist over how to keep Israel safe.
c) Emerging evidence suggests that the consequences of mistreatment in childhood may persist down the generations, affecting a victim’s children or grand-children, even if they have experienced no abuse themselves.

2:Hard work hardly goes unnoticed. Endure and persist, the reward will present itself sooner or later.
