No matter when we live or work, we have to make a choice sometimes.

The Spring Festival is over, lots of people come back to their workplace. Maybe you will find someone is not here, perhaps he has found one new job. It seems a very normal phenomenon that many people want to find a new job in the new year.

Recently, i heard a true story, Mr L is the best friend of Mr W, one day, Mr L asked Mr W,“hey, i know there is a good opportunity for you to be a manager with better pay, would you wanna try?“. Mr W replied:“Really? Why not?”So Mr W delivers his resume and attends interview in the follolwing days. About half month later, Mr W got the offer from the new company. He can be a manager with double salary. He felt deeply happy at that time.

Several months later, Mr W worked for some time in the new company. He found he didn’t feel very happy than before. he needs to workload overtime everyday, so that he doesn’t have enough time to accompany with his family. When he goes back home, his little boy is sleeping when he leaves home, he is still sleeping. He want to spend more time on experiencing the growth of his children. But now, he couldn’t. He is a little bit brame his friend Mr L about introudcing such a new job for him.

You might be shocked at this moment, his friend Mr L is enthusiastic, but Mr W took his civility in such ill part. Why does Mr W blame Mr L when he is a manager with double pay? As he realises he has little time to stay with his family. Why didn’t he think about that before making choosing? It would be the key to the question.

If Mr W knew the purpose or the reason before he start to change his job,

Before we analysis the reason, I wanna introudce a model first. The model is PORT. Purpose- Goal- Result- Task.

Purpose, we need to know the purpose before we start to do one thing. Also that is the reason why we want to do it.

Goal, it means we need to know how we can do it.

Result, it meas what we want to achieve when we do it.

The last one, is Task. What need i do to achive the goal.

If Mr know this purpose or the reason before he start to change his job. He would do better than now.
