1.a contradiction in terms：自相矛盾的说法

contradiction：a lack of agreement between facts, opinions, actions, etc.（事实、看法、行动等的）不一致，矛盾，对立

Eg：There is a contradiction between the two sets of figures.这两组数据相互矛盾。
