This chapter is mainly about Wickham's plausible words, especial towards Darcy. It is unbelievable that clever as Lizzy, she should believe him. Maybe this is where to show Lizzy's prejudice.
Anyway, in our daily life, we need to be alert when someone that is seemingly innocent always says clever words about himself which actually do harm to others. This “someone” can be male or female.
