I think that, from a biological standpoint, human life almost reads like a poem. It has its own rhythm and beat, its internal cycles of growth and decay, especially to a great one. Gatsby, the protagonist in The Great Gatsby written by F.Scott Fitzgerald, is a man of dream. It is universally acknowledge that a man who in possession of capacity for dreams and perseverance must in want of a dream and his dream is Daisy, the woman he loved.
Daisy, in Gatsby's heart, is more than a beautiful woman. As we can say, Daisy is a symbol of his dream, a dream that he can achieve by his hardwork and intelligence; a dream that he can throw himself into with a creative passion, adding to it all the time, decking it out with every bright feather that drifted his way; a dream that no amount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart. Gatsby is a Romantic American who thought that hard work, courage and determiniation, one can achieve financial and personally success. Gatsby's dream had gone beyond Daisy, beyond everything. Daisy tumbled short of his dreams result from the colossal vitality of his illusion.
Gatsby not only have capacity for dreams, but the sense of humor to correct those dreams, which means even if his lover Daisy fall short of his dream, he can love her again. Gatsby know her when him heard her voice which filled with money and he is no longer the pure, innocent girl he loved. However, Gatsby actually have the capacity for endless new beginnings. You think that they've come to the end of the road or that they come to the end of the dream, but all of a sudden, they are startling up all over again. Thus, the greatness of Gatsby lies in that he can always start again and that passion for Gatsby can always start afresh.
The end of the novel have a profound meaning and I want to share with you, my readers. "So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past." We live in this miserable world, but we have to go to the past to seek our lost passion and hope.
