Chapter 2

"Daybreak! Two players were killed last night—no order of death specified. Players 7 and 12 have been eliminated, and they are not allowed to leave final words. Do Players 7 and 12 wish to activate any special skills? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Sheriff, please choose the speech order: clockwise from the Sheriff or counterclockwise from the Sheriff. Player 10, you will speak first."

Eve was tasked with opening the round of speeches. She started by analyzing the speaking order, concluding that Player 5, who was set to speak last, must be the Sheriff's confirmed good person. She decided that today, they should vote out Player 3, the fake Seer. Then she turned to the night's deaths, reasoning that Player 12, who had boldly claimed her role, was a good person killed by the wolves. In contrast, Player 7, who had refused to judge the Seer candidates based on their independent speeches, was a wolf taken out by the Witch's poison. As for why the wolves had attacked players outside the core debate circle last night, Eve figured they were trying to sneak a kill on the Guardian, while using the real Seer as a scapegoat to be voted out later. She thought to herself that her reasoning was solid—it should help her role model, Player 2, to frame Player 3, the real Seer, as a wolf and get him voted out.

Player 13 argued, "For the sake of clarity, the Witch should come forward and announce who she poisoned last night. I'll probably vote for Player 3 today." Since he was siding with the same camp as her, Eve did not suspect him for the time being.

Player 1, however, sided with Player 3, stating, "Player 7 was poisoned, and Player 12 was killed by the wolves. My wolf suspects are Players 7, 8, 9, and 11." Eve thought to herself that he must be a die-hard good person.

Then it was her role model Player 2's turn to speak, and Eve listened even more attentively. Player 2 suggested, "Between Players 3 and 6, both of whom claimed to be the Seer during the nomination phase, one must be the Half-Breed. I advise Player 9 to vote out Player 1 today and investigate Player 3 tonight. If Player 3 turns out to be gold water, then we can have Players 4 and 6 face off in a PK tomorrow." Eve resolved to stick firmly to Player 9's side, following her role model's lead without hesitation.

Player 3 spoke up, saying, "I lied about my initial investigation result. On the first night, I checked Player 9—and she is a wolf. But since she also claimed to be the Seer right after me, accusing her directly would have lacked punch. So I shifted my target to Player 2, who sounded like a wolf to me from the sidelines. I never expected her to be the Witch. Now I have to reveal the truth about my investigations. On the second night, I checked Player 10—and she is gold water." Eve's mind raced as she processed this information. Could my role model really be the Witch? she wondered. Was Player 3 a wolf who first framed Player 2, only to realize he had targeted the actual Witch, then switched to accusing the fake Seer Player 9? If that was the case, then her role model was indeed a good person, and Player 9 was the real Seer. Which meant she, as the Half-Breed, was now on the side of the good team and had to play to help the real Seer win.

Player 4 then claimed a role, "I am the Guardian. My proposal is to vote out Players 3, 1, and 8 in that order." This idea perfectly aligned with Eve's own thoughts.

Player 5, having accepted the label of gold water, named Players 1 and 3 as his wolf suspects. He suggested to Player 9, "You should investigate either Player 8 or Player 10 next. If the target is a wolf, vote them out; if they are good, then vote out the other one." Eve thought this plan was reasonable.

Player 6 also agreed that Player 7 must have been poisoned. He commented, "Player 1's perspective seems too broad and all-encompassing—it makes me a bit suspicious of him." Still, he advised the Seer, "You should prioritize investigating Player 4 next round."

Player 8 continued to side with Player 9, insisting, "Vote out Player 3 today." Could she be a wolf pretending to side with the good team? Eve thought, a small smile tugging at her lips.

Player 9 confirmed Player 5 as gold water, then, taking into account the good players' opinions, decided to investigate Player 4 next. She named Players 1, 3, and 11 as her wolf suspects, defended Player 6 as a good person, and made her final decision, "We vote out Player 3 today." Of course, Eve was ready to follow the real Seer's lead without question.

"All speeches are now concluded. Please close your eyes and prepare to vote. Sheriff, please announce your final vote target. Sheriff votes for Player 3. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1—cast your votes."

"Player 3 has been eliminated. Please deliver your final words."

Player 3 pointed to Players 4 and 9 as his wolf suspects, and spoke frantically to Eve, telling her she had chosen the wrong side. But Eve watched as her role model's vote was cast against Player 3, and thought to herself that she had not made a mistake at all.

"Player 3's final words are concluded. Do you wish to activate any special skills? 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Everyone, it's nightfall—please close your eyes."

Eve shut her eyes obediently.
