#字词 & 表达
“Decades of research had shown that there is a strict limit to the number of items that a person can retain in short-term memory, which is the type of memory the brain uses to hold on to small amounts of information for a brief period of time”
这段话中的几个词语并不难，重点是要学会使用：
1. a strict limit to 严格的限制 to的后面是名词形式
2.retain 保持；保留；保有，即 to keep or continue to have something. 这个词很早就认识，却很少使用，替换keep 和 continue就很好。
3. hold on to: to keep something rather than losing it, selling it, or giving it to someone else. hold on 的意思是抓牢，握紧。这句话说我们的brain在短时间内，只能hold on 少量的信息。所以这个hold on非常的形象具体了。
[例句] I think I'll hold on to these old records for now.
[造句] Although my little toy bear which I used as a company in bed has been worn out over years, I still held on to it for the sense of security.
“I was reading the digits at a rate of one per second—too fast for him to transfer the digits into his long-term memory—so it was no surprise that he was running into a wall at numbers that were about eight or nine digits long.”
1. at the rate of one per second 每秒钟数一次。这个是数词的用法，虽然知识点小，但是自己不会用，所以还是记起来。
2. run into a wall : run into / come up against/ hit etc a (brick) wall
[释义] to reach a point in a process where there are problems that seem impossible to solve
[例句] We seem to have come up against a brick wall with this project.
[造句] I was accustomed to rushing forward whenever I run into a wall in work. Maybe I had better stop for a moment so that I will think out a better solution to it.
“He was given strings of digits that were right at the boundary between what he could and couldn’t do.”
something be right at the boundary between one thing and the other thing. 表示在两个相对的事情的中间，boundary的巧妙用法。
“Steve had a “natural” ceiling—the number of digits he could comfortably hold in his short-term memory—of only eight or nine. He had found a way to push through that ceiling.”
[释义] push something through: to get a plan, law etc officially accepted, especially quickly.
[例句] The planning application was pushed through as quickly as possible.
[造句] We have been trapped in this problem for days. He just pushed through the project within two days. How skilled he was!
5. “Flip through the pages of the book or visit the online version, and you will find such record holders as the American teacher Barbara Blackburn, who can type up to 212 words per minute;”
翻阅书籍：flip through; 浏览网页：visit the online version；纪录保持者：record holders
因为我自己提笔忘词，所以注意到这些常用词，积累起来。
#结构 & 理解
主旨：有目的的练习。
1. 首先练习是什么？
“repeat them to yourself over and over again-and thus transfer them into your long-term memory.” 通过一次又一次的重复，从而将事物存到自己的长时记忆中。
2. 为什么要通过练习存储为长时记忆？
因为人们可以保留在短时记忆中的事物数量，有着严格的限制。这也正是大脑用来在短时间内记住少量信息的那种类型的记忆。-短时记忆。
因为记忆有限，如果想要将陌生的事物记忆，从而能够内化为自己的知识或者能力，就需要通过练习转化为长时记忆。
3. 练习的度是什么？
持续练习从而能够突破自己的极限。
“刻意练习”，不断地练习。
“the most effective and most powerful types of practice in any field work by harnessing the adaptability of the human body and brain to create, step by step, the ability to do things that were previously not possible. ”
#熟读 & 深思
为了自我的强大，我（也许你也是）会想办法去找很多的捷径去实现。捷径，只能解决短时问题，根源不解决，自己的根本问题不通过一次又一次有效的刻意练习去去除，终归还是解决不了。

在《高效能人士的7个习惯》中，我看到了自我强大的重要性，而这一本《刻意练习》刚好告诉我，我可以通过什么样的方式，实现自我强大。而我今天看的另一本《把时间当作朋友》里，解决了“当下看不到这些好点子的成果”而心情浮躁的方法：
我们要承认自己不可能全知全晓，即暂时不去问为什么；我们要了解未知分两种：一种是永远不能解决的，另一种是在可预见的未来也许能够解决的。不要怕枯燥，事情总会解决的。当有问题解决不了时，可以先把它记下来，然后继续前行。

接受现状：
有什么做什么，有什么用什么；
做什么都做好，用什么都用好。
不要常常觉得苦（这会让人忍不住顾影自怜，浪费精力与时间，）
