前任教宗访问美国是在2008年，当时是四月份，教宗本笃十六世(Pope Benedict XVI)访问了华盛顿和纽约。第一站是华盛顿。

因为4月17日主会场会在The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception， 因为所有的入场券已经分完了，热心教友建议我在大教堂没有禁严前先去参观一下：
