单词

• fuzzy
  （图片、声音等）不清楚的，模糊的，举个例子：
      A couple of fuzzy pictures have been published.
      有几张模糊的照片刊登了出来。

• grumpy
  脾气坏的，性情暴躁的，英文解释为：If you say that someone is grumpy, you mean that they are bad-tempered and miserable.
  

• slippers
  拖鞋，一定是复数，a pair of slippers

• hiccup
  嗝（既可作名词，也可做动词），打嗝声。
      She gave a loud hiccup.
      她打了一个响嗝。
      I ate too quickly and got hiccups.
      我吃得太快，结果不停打嗝。
      She was still hiccuping from the egg she had swallowed whole.
      刚才一口吞下整个鸡蛋，她到现在还在打嗝。

• spoil
  弄糟，损坏，破坏，英文解释为：
  If you spoil something, you prevent it from being successful or satisfactory.
      It's important not to let mistakes spoil your life.
      重要的是不要让错误毁了你的生活。

• cure
  可以作名词，表示药物，疗法，英文解释为：
  A cure for an illness is a medicine or other treatment that cures the illness.
      There is still no cure for a cold…
      尚没有治疗感冒的特效药。

• beaker
  英式英语中，（常指无柄的）塑料杯，纸杯。也可以指大口的玻璃杯，烧杯等。
      ……a beaker of coffee
      一杯咖啡

• tease
  嘲笑，嘲弄，取笑。
      Don't get upset. I was only teasing.
      别不高兴啦，我只是在逗你玩。
      I used to get teased about my name.
      过去别人总拿我的名字开玩笑。

• spot
  地点，场所。
      They stayed at several of the island's top tourist spots…
      他们在岛上最著名的旅游景点作了停留。
      They all stood there staring as if frozen to the spot.
      他们都站在那发愣，就像被冻在了那儿。

• nap
  （尤指在白天）小睡，打盹，既可作名词，又可作动词。
      ……to take/have a nap
      打个盹，小睡一会儿
      An elderly person may nap during the day and then sleep only five hours at night.
      老人白天会小睡一会，然后晚上只睡5小时。

• pond
  池塘，水塘

• wasp

• scram
  走开，滚开(通常用于命令)。
      Scram! I don't want you here.
      滚！不要待在我这儿。

• sting
  刺，叮，蜇。
      This type of bee rarely stings.
      这种蜜蜂很少蜇人。

• pest
  害虫；害兽。

短语

• knock sth over
  相当于knock down，把某样东西撞倒了，但是knock本身也有撞倒的意思。
      She accidentally knocked the tea tin off the shelf……
      她不小心把架子上的茶叶罐碰了下来。

• bump into
  不小心撞到（某样东西）。
  拓展一下：
  这个短语还可以表示偶遇某人：If you bump into someone you know, you meet them unexpectedly.
      I happened to bump into Mervyn Johns in the hallway.
      我在走廊里意外碰见了默文·约翰斯。

• you lot
  lot可以表示特指的某一群人。
      Come on, you lot, hurry up!
      来吧，你们这帮家伙，快点！
      Right, you lot. Could you all stop talking, and then we'll begin.
      好了，各位。请别再说话，我们要开始了。

• what a fuss
  fuss作名词表示大惊小怪，紧张不安。
      Honestly! What a fuss!
      真是大惊小怪!
  拓展一下：
  fuss还可以表达无谓的激动（或忧虑、活动），英文解释为：unnecessary excitement, worry, or activity.
      It's a very ordinary movie. I don't know what all the fuss is about (= why other people think it is so good).
      这是部很普通的电影——我不懂为什么就轰动一时。

• hang on to
  保住，守住，英文解释为：
  If you hang on to or hang onto something that gives you an advantage, you succeed in keeping it for yourself and prevent it from being taken away or given to someone else.
      The British driver was unable to hang on to his lead…
      英国车手没能保住自己的领先地位。
