《门前赏蔷薇》
清风来，
蜂蝶采，
亲栽蔷薇满架开。
不似牡丹，
胜却幽兰，
得意自摇摆。
闹腾腾红粉世界，
羞答答寻常脸蛋。
微仰头酒润喉，
轻击掌诗入怀。
烦，
馋母鸡啄花瓣。

Admiring Roses by Thatched Door
清风来，蜂蝶采，
By thatched door l watch my roses trembling,
Breezes send bees and butterflies roaming.
亲栽蔷薇满架开。
All flowers planted now bloom on the racks,
不似牡丹，胜却幽兰，
Not peony-like, yet unique the orchid lacks,
得意自摇摆。
Thrilled and glad, they are swaying in stacks.
闹腾腾红粉世界，
羞答答寻常脸蛋。
A bustling world of vermilion and pink—
Pity they have bashful, common faces, I think.
微仰头酒润喉，
轻击掌诗入怀。
I lift my cup, let wine glide down, a mellow stream;
I clap my hands, and verses slip into their dream.
烦，馋母鸡啄花瓣。
But lo!
Trouble strikes—a greedy hen invades the plot,
Pecking at the very petals I guard not.

1. 作者作品简介
朱夫子八旬翁, 毕业于复旦大学历史系，教师，诗人，出版过《月亮与菊花》(北京教育出版社) 和其它诗集，涵盖古诗词、仿元曲和现代诗三部分。
在这首仿元曲中，作者歌颂了小院内自种盛开蔷薇花的美好春景。
2. 汉英格律说明
1.Yuan-style drama: 仿元曲； Zhai'erling:( a poetic form )寨儿令，此首仿元曲以“开ai,uai，先an,ian,uan”入韵。英译根据汉诗意群分用了/ɪŋ/,/æks/,/ɪŋk/,/iːm/,/ɒt/五个韵部。
3. by thatched door:（意译）寒舍；首句为增补句来营造意境兼押诗韵。
4. roaming: 漫遊
5. racks：架子
6. in stacks :成堆
7. 闹腾腾红粉世界，羞答答寻常脸蛋：元曲中常见的对偶句。 vermilion ，鲜红色的
