Punctuation is the system of symbols (. , ! - : etc) that we use to separate sentences and parts of sentences, and to make their meaning clear. Each symbol is called a "punctuation mark".

句号 Period
在常用标点符号中，句号只是仅次于逗号，而且亦是较易使用的符号。
一般有三种用法：
（1） 结束句子
（2） 结束略语
（3） 分开小数
（1） 结束句子：Use a full stop at the end of a sentence.
当句子不是问句或感叹语时，使用句号来结束句子，即放在句子最后位置。
例子：
Direct Statement:
Mr Lee likes to send postcards to his friends when he goes to travel.
Indirect Question:
I wonder why she walks so slowly.
Mild Command:
Turn it down, please.
Polite Request:
Will you please turn down the volume.
（2） 用于略语之后: Use full stops with abbreviations (in an abbreviation the last letter of the word and of theabbreviation are not the same).

（3） 用作小数点

He owes me $63.25.
This wine contains 7.37% alcohol.
注意：Do not use full stops with contractions (in a contraction the last letter of the word and of the contraction are the same):
