宣仪安很纳闷，问道，“Didn't anyone in the town see George go out of town? The woods didn't leave town very close enough for a five-year-old to walk by himself, did they?（难道小镇上没有一个人看见乔治走出了镇子？林子离开小镇不算很近，一个5岁的孩子，不可能自己走去吧？）”
路德耸耸肩，“That's because more than half of the town's adults are in Cleveland, and every family's bar mitzvahs and bar mitzvahs are very important. 刘三喜忽然提出一个问题，“Isn't it odd that the murders were all boys, including the missing one? Didn't the local police pay attention to the problem?（被杀害的都是男孩子，包括失踪的一个，真不是很奇怪？当地警察没有注意这个问题吗？）”
“What does attention matter? Several cases brought so many police that nothing was found. But I'm not afraid.（注意又能怎么样？几次案件都来了很多警察，结果什么也没有查出来。不过我不怕。）”路德很不在乎。
“Why is that?（那是为什么？）”
“Because I'm ten years old. This killer won't bother me. The oldest he killed was Louie, 8.（因为我已经10岁了。这个杀人恶魔不会找我的麻烦。被他杀的最大是路易，8岁。）”
宣仪安看了路德一眼，其实他说出一个很重要特点，凶手很可能担心无法制服10岁的男童，才会只对那些8岁以下的孩子动手。10岁的男童，再强壮也是孩子，这一点显然是被克利夫兰的警察发现了，所以他们会逐渐把凶手锁定在孩子身上。只有一个8岁的男童被害，显然也是凶手有点冒险了。宣仪安决定追问一下这个关于路易的男孩子遇害的情况。
“你说几个遇害的孩子，其中有个8岁的男孩？要说一个8岁男孩已经很强壮，不会比10岁的孩子差很多吧？（你说几个遇害的孩子，其中有个8岁的男孩？要说一个8岁男孩已经很强壮，不会比10岁的孩子差很多吧？）”宣仪安故意这么说。
“How's that? Louie is weak and has a nasty mouth. That's not necessarily how he was punished by the devil.（怎么会？路易是很弱小的，而且嘴巴很臭。说不一定就是这样受到了恶魔的惩罚。）”路德很不屑地表示。
“What do you mean by that? Mouth smelly? What does he mean?（你说这话是什么意思？嘴臭？是指他什么呢？）”
“What else could it be? It's just that he's too quick to bite. Louis, though not strong, liked to stand out, did not like to keep company, kept to himself, liked to attack, was a disagreeable fellow.（还能是什么？就是他太容易用嘴巴伤人。路易虽然并不强壮，却偏偏喜欢出头，而且不愿意和大家一起，总是一个人独来独往，又喜欢攻击人，是个不讨人喜欢的家伙。）”
宣仪安心里一动，者的确很可能是路易遇害的原因。
宣仪安指着远处的旧镇废墟，不经意说，“Where was it found?（也是在那里发现的？）”
“Yes, his body was found in the rubble, and it was horrible, only this time it wasn't strangled. The demon's claws, they cut louie's chest, they left a lot of blood, and there was a lot of chest in his mouth. The floor was covered with his blood.（是的，是在废墟里发现了他的尸体，而且非常可怕，只有这次不是掐死的。恶魔的利爪，抓破了路易的胸膛，留了很多血，嘴巴里，很有胸口。地板上满是他的鲜血。）”
“Did you see it with your own eyes? Or listen to someone else talk about it?（你们亲眼看见的吗？还是听别人说起？）”
“No, jana said that, and not only did she and Adhi find the body, they went to see it, but then they went to Louie's house. Those are two brave fellows.（不是，是杰娜说的，她和雅荻不仅发现尸体后，跑去看了，后来还去过路易家里。那是两个胆大的家伙。）”
宣仪安再次望向刘三喜，显然这个杰娜身上的确有很多疑点，可偏偏警察找不到她的犯罪证据。宣仪安忽然有个念头，路易相对比较难对付，如果凶手真是杰娜，很可能会在两个人纠缠中，给杰娜留下伤痕。者应该是很好的突破方向。
千里寻真她们去的是树林和旧镇废墟，先去的废墟，千里寻真有意无意，朝着小贝西和路易被发现的方向走。杰娜毫不在意，可是简爱和丽雅，非常明显表现出一种抵触。
“Let's not go to that house. There's probably one over there.（我们不要去那座房子吧，还有那边一座。）”简爱朝后退开。
“Why is that? What's wrong with those two houses?（为什么？那两座房子有问题？）”孟晓云故意问道。
“Those are two houses where people died, two little kids.（那是两座死过人的房子，两个小孩子。）”丽雅低着头，小声说。
走在前面的杰娜，忽然回过头，很大声责怪，“You're two cowards. Why would I be friends with you? What about the dead? The police came to me so many times about these two dead kids, like I killed them. Why would I kill them? Do I have a grudge against them? Just two kids.（你们就是两个胆小鬼，我为什么会和你们是朋友？死人又怎么样？为了这两个死孩子，警察找过我很多次，就像他们是被我杀的一样。我为什么要杀了他们，和他们有仇吗？两个小孩子而已。）”
杰娜说这番话的时候，神情十分自然，带着一点被冤枉的愤怒，几乎是无懈可击。如果不是千里寻真她们，手中已经有了不少指向杰娜的证据，完全可以相信她是一个无辜的女孩。
千里寻真凝视者杰娜蓝色的眼睛，很平静地问，“What the hell is going on? Why would the police suspect you?（究竟怎么回事？为什么警察会怀疑到你？）”
“Nothing. They said I was near little Bessie's body, and Louie's house. Like I was acting weird? Most likely Yadi, the bitch who framed me, saying she saw me kill little Bessie. Isn't that weird? Yadi is three years old than me, by the way, you see Jane Eyre, they are as tall as me, taller than a head. If you saw me kill someone, why didn't you stop me? It should be easy, right? 杰娜回答的若无其事，那份镇静，没有人会不相信她的话。那对蓝眼睛里，没有丝毫的惊恐或者慌张。
千里寻真用很好奇的语气说，“Did you really go and look at their bodies? You're a 10-year-old girl. Aren't you scared?（你真的去看了他们的尸体吗？你可是只有10岁的女孩子，不害怕吗？）”
杰娜耸耸肩，“Why should I be scared? It's just a dead child. I was the first to find little Bessie, lying under the kitchen window as if he were asleep. But I don't think he died there. Or yadi killed him somewhere else and brought him here.（我为什么要害怕，不过一个死去的孩子而已。是我第一个发现的小贝西，他就像睡着了一样，躺在厨房窗户下面。不过我并不觉得他是死在那里。或者是雅荻在其他地方杀了他，然后把他抱过来的。）”
千里寻真眉梢扬起来，“Why do you have this idea?（你为什么会有这样的想法？）”
“That's easy. This house, along with the one where Louis was found, are the two closest to the tracks, the easiest to spot. How could Yadi be stupid enough to choose a place like this? Isn't she afraid the baby will cry? A cry will travel far. I'd choose the ones over there.（很简单啊，这座房子，还有发现路易尸体的房子，是离开铁轨最近的两栋房子，最容易被发现。雅荻怎么会愚蠢到选择这种地方动手？她不怕小孩子会哭吗？哭声会传得很远。要是我，就会选择那里的几栋。）”
杰娜的手朝废墟中心的几栋房子指过去，那里恰恰就是被千里寻真怀疑真正的第一现场。
